John was born on November 20th, 1896.  John's father was Charlies Liechti and his mother was Marie Hachen.  His paternal grandparents were John Liechti and Rosalia Caroline Lehman.  He had a brother and a sister, named Edward and Clara.  He was the youngest of the three children.
