Gottfried was born on August 28th, 1850 in Kackenberg, Germany.  Gottfried's father was Martin Helsper and his mother was Anna Maria Heinz.  His paternal grandparents were Johann Martin Helsper and Catharina Hoen.  He had eight brothers and a sister, named Wilhelm, Totgeburt, Totgeb. Zwillinge, Totgeburt, Totgeburt, Johannes, Totgeburt, Adolf and August.  He had five half-brothers named Josef, Robert, Johann, Karl and Christian.  He died at the age of 64 on December 18th, 1914 in Chokio, MN.

Gottfried and Karoline were married. They had nine sons and a daughter, named August, Johann, Adolf Henry, William, Nicholas, Bernard, Frederick, Herman Peter, Edward John and Theresa.

Theresa was born on March 10th, 1884 in West Union, MN.  She died at the age of 80 in March 1964.

Nicholas was born on February 28th, 1886 in West Union, MN.  He died at the age of 47 on April 25th, 1933 in Dickinson, ND.

Male Bernard Helsper
Bernard was born on April 7th, 1888 in West Union, MN.  He died at the age of 48 on February 2nd, 1937 in Richartdon, ND.

Male Frederick Helsper
Frederick was born on August 7th, 1890 in West Union, MN.  He died at the age of 48 on January 20th, 1939 in Dodge, ND.

Male Herman Peter Helsper
Herman Peter was born on June 19th, 1896 in Miorris, MN.  He died at the age of 62 on July 23rd, 1958 in Great Falls, MT.

Male Edward John Helsper
Edward John was born on March 27th, 1899 in Morris, MN.  He died at the age of 68 on June 4th, 1967 in Fargo, ND.
