Rose was born on April 15th, 1911 in Milwaukee, WI.  Rose's father was George F Balfanz and her mother was Fredericka Lieb.  Her paternal grandparents were John Wilhelm Balfanz and Alvina Springstroh; her maternal grandparents are George Ludwig Lieb and Josefine Wilhelmine Dalmer.  She had a brother named George.  She was the older of the two children.  She died at the age of 85 on January 9th, 1997 in Lincoln, IL.
