William Hillard

William was born in January 1850 in Bruton, Somerset. William's father was Thomas White and his mother was Emily Ann Hillard. His paternal grandparents were Robert Ames White and Joanna Whitaker; his maternal grandparents are Charles Hillard and Rachel. He had two brothers and seven sisters, named Thomas, Charles, Ann, Elizabeth, Eliza, Louisa, Jane, Mary Jane and Alice Eliza. He is the oldest of the ten children.
