Tryphena was born in February 1845.  Tryphena's father was John Wesley Edmonds and her mother was Margaret Miller (Edmonds).  Her paternal grandparents are Samuel Edmonds and Sarah Plumb (Edmonds); her maternal grandparents were Jacob Miller and Elizabeth Dickhaut (Miller). She had two brothers and six sisters, named Hiram, Leon, Elizabeth, Emily, Adelaide, Maria, Delia and Josephine.  She was the fifth oldest of the nine children.  She died at the age of 4 on October 14th, 1849.
