Izak  was born on March 22nd, 1871 in Middleburg.  Izak 's father was Francois Petrus van Blerk and his mother was Cornelia Barendina Johanna Vorster.  His paternal grandfather was Petrus Jacobus van Blerk and his paternal grandmother is Maria Susanna Joubert. He had seven brothers and five sisters, named Piet, Berend, Oupa Hendrik, Carel, Jan, Frank, J, Elizabeth, Magdalena, S, Unknown and Anna.  He was the youngest of the thirteen children.  He died at the age of 77 on April 14th, 1948 in Bethlehem.
