James Merry

James was born in March 1862 in Manchester, Lancashire, England.¹ James' father was John Merry and his mother was Catherine Brady. His paternal grandparents were Edward Merry and Susannah Kennedy; his maternal grandparents are Arthur Brady and Mary McAvoy. He had four brothers and two sisters, named Edward, John Arthur, Catherine, Thomas Harwood, Susannah and Mary. He is the fifth oldest of the seven children.
