George was born on October 7th, 1716.  George's father was Edward T Shepherd and his mother was Avarilla.  His paternal grandfather was Walter Shepherd and his paternal grandmother is Elspet Pirie. He had two brothers and a sister, named James, Michael and Jean.  He was the second oldest of the four children.  He died at the age of 33 on January 10th, 1750.
