Michael was born in 1771.  Michael's father was Johann Barnabas Farr and his mother was Dorothy Moesch. He had five brothers and four sisters, named Barnabas, George, John, Barnabas, William, Margeret, Barbara, Dorothy and Mary.  He was the fourth youngest of the ten children.
