George was born in 1769.  George's father was Johann Barnabas Farr and his mother was Dorothy Moesch. He had five brothers and four sisters, named Barnabas, Michael, John, Barnabas, William, Margeret, Barbara, Dorothy and Mary.  He was the fifth youngest of the ten children.
