Abraham was born in 1838.  Abraham's father was Abraham J Dancy and his mother was Lucinda Wingler.  His paternal grandparents were John Dancy and Ann Morgan; his maternal grandparents were Leonard Wingler and Jyre Dancy. He had four brothers and two sisters, named John, Jesse, Wilson, Joe, Amanda and Lucinda.  He was the third youngest of the seven children.  He died at the age of 24 in November 1862.
