Veronica Margaret was born on May 2nd, 1920 in Plattsmouth, Nebraska.1 Veronica Margaret's father was Charles Clement JANDA and her mother was Marie Cathryn TOMAN. Her paternal grandparents were Cyril JANDA and Pauline MARTINEK; her maternal grandparents were Anton J. TOMAN and Marie F. CHYBA. She had three brothers and two sisters, named Clement Anthony, Matthew Charles, Daniel Francis, Edith Marie and Cecelia Agnes. She was the youngest of the six children. She died at the age of 85 on March 5th, 2006 in Omaha, Ne, Calvery Cemetery.General Notes
My mother was born in Plattsmouth and lived there till she was 3 or 4 when they
move to Omaha.

Veronica Kenny 'dedicated her life' to family

Note below that the death cert says the 6th of march, but we know that it was the eveing of the 5th when she actually died, therfore, we had the 5th on the towm stone. The attendant from heafy Heaphy and Hoffmann Mortuary varied the 5th also. It also states a heart attack, but we believe she had a diabetic episope where she let her sugar level decline and passed out, eventially dying.

Veronica Kenny corresponded with her many friends not just by phone, but with a pen and some flower-printed stationery.
"She wrote everybody," said her daughter Mary Lou Kenny of Lincoln. "She loved to write letters."
Kenny, 85, died March 6 of a heart attack at her Omaha home. A service was held Friday at St. Margaret Mary Catholic Church.
A native of Plattsmouth, Neb., Kenny graduated from Omaha Holy Name High School.
After her husband, attorney Dan L. Kenny, died in a boating accident, Veronica Kenny worked two jobs to support her family.
"She never remarried," said her son, Joseph Kenny of Omaha. "She dedicated her life to us kids."
From 1954 to 1969, she worked at the law firm Kenny and St. Lucas. She later worked in the placement office at Creighton University for 21 years, retiring in 1990 at age 70.
A member of the Catholic Daughters, Kenny also made friends from her volunteer efforts at St. James Orphanage and in the intensive care waiting room at Nebraska Medical Center.
"She was very outgoing and would talk to anyone," said her daughter. "She had friends from all walks of life."
Other survivors include daughters Susan Kenny Stevens of Wayzata, Minn., Nancy Kenny of Lincoln and Anne Marie Kenny Bull of Omaha; 14 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
