His paternal grandfather was John CONNOR; his maternal grandfather was Michael HOEY. He had five brothers and four sisters, named Lawrence, John, Patrick, Michael Valentine, James H, Bridget, Mary Ann, Rose and Elizabeth. He was the third oldest of the ten children.
