Katerine was born in December 1764.  Katerine's father was Walter Waters and her mother was Anne Staple.  Her maternal grandparents were Walter Staple and Mary Skewes. She had two brothers and two sisters, named Richard, John, Elizabeth and Diana.  She was the second oldest of the five children.
