Anne was born in January 1734.  Anne's father was Walter Staple and her mother was Mary Skewes.  Her maternal grandfather was Digory Skewes and her maternal grandmother is <Unknown>. She had four brothers and four sisters, named William, Walter, Richard, Martin, Mary, Eleanor, Jane and Elizabeth.  She was the fourth oldest of the nine children.
