Раиса was born on September 6th, 1934 in Харьков.  Раиса's father was Шепсель Моисеевич Давыдов and her mother was Эсфирь Гиршевна Азбель (Давидова).  Her paternal grandparents were Моисей Давидов and Рая; her maternal grandparents are Гирш Азбель and Хася (Азбель). She had two sisters named Мария and Анна.  She was the youngest of the three daughters.  She died at the age of 69 on May 29th, 2004 in Ленинград.  The funeral took place in Ленинград.
