Jakov was born on March 8th, 1910 in Владивосток. Jakov's father was David Yankel Alperovich and his mother was Raxla Abram Zimmerman (Alperovich). His paternal grandparents were Yankel Leiba Alperovich (Jakob) and Chaya Raisa (2nd wife) (Chana); his maternal grandparents were Abracham German Zimerman (Avrum) and Xosh-Feiga Mogilevskaja (Zimerman). He had five brothers and a sister, named Moisej, Eliah, Naxim, Reveka, Avraam and Lubovj. He was the second youngest of the seven children. He died from cancer at the age of 61 on November 7th, 1971 in Рига. The funeral took place in кладбище Шмерли в Риге.¹
