Hannah was born on May 6th, 1808 in Morton, Bingley, W Yorkshire and her baptism took place on June 26th, 1808 in Bingley, W Yorkshire.1   Hannah's father was John Ickeringill and her mother was Mary Medley.  Her paternal grandparents were George Ickeringill and Hannah Wilkinson. She had four brothers and three sisters, named Isaac, James, George, David, Elizabeth, Sarah and Rebecca.  She was the fourth oldest of the eight children.
