George was born on January 15th, 1811 in West Morton, Bingley, W. Yorks., UK and his baptism took place on June 9th, 1811 in Bingley, W Yorkshire.  George's father was Thomas Ickeringill and his mother was Sarah Longbottom.  His paternal grandparents were George Ickeringill and Hannah Wilkinson; his maternal grandparents were John Longbottom and Mary Wilson. He had two brothers and a sister, named John, Thomas and Hannah.  He was the third oldest of the four children.  He died at the age of 84 in March 1895.
