Ann was born on September 22nd, 1790 in Terrington, N. Yorkshire.  Ann's father was John Bedale and her mother was Jane Andrews.  Her paternal grandparents were John Bedal and Sarah Hudson; her maternal grandparents were Joshua Andrews and Sarah Hoyland. She had seven brothers and three sisters, named John, John, Joseph, Benjamin, George, Andrew, Joseph, Rebecca, Jane and Sarah.  She was the oldest of the eleven children.
