Henry's father was Thomas Renton Wallace and his mother was Catherine Allan. His paternal grandparents were Alexander Wallace and Janet Stewart Renton; his maternal grandparents were Henry Allan and Isabella Hunter. He had four brothers and four sisters, named Alexander , Thomas, John, Joseph, Isabella, Janet , Catherine and <Unknown>. He died at the age of 53 in 1970.
