Margaret was born in 1821.  Margaret's father is George Manson and her mother is Frances Williamson.  Her paternal grandparents are Alexander Manson and Margaret Swanson.  She has three brothers and two sisters, named John, William, Donald, Elizabeth and Janet.  She is the oldest of the six children.
