Ann was born in 1846.  Ann's father is George Oman and her mother is Harriet MacKay.  Her paternal grandparents are Wiliam Oman and Elizabeth MacKenzie; her maternal grandparents are George MacKay and Ann Matheson.  She had three brothers and a sister, named Robert, William, James and Isabella.  She is the oldest of the five children.
