George was born in 1896.  George's father is Donald Manson and his mother is Isabella Oman.  His paternal grandparents are William Manson and Maria MacKay; his maternal grandparents are Nicholas Oman and Isabella McAdie.  He had five brothers and five sisters, named William, Nicholas, Donald, William, James, Isabella, Maria, Janet, May and Mary.
