Josefa was born on April 26th, 1887.1   Josefa's father was Josef Kirchner and her mother was Marie Anna Ptáčková.  Her paternal grandparents were Jan Kirchner and Vincencie Kubíková; her maternal grandparents were Antonín Ptáček and Anna Kosková. She had two sisters named Marianna and Marie.  She was the second oldest of the three children.
