Thomas was born on November 1st, 1774 in Křižánky č.63.1  Thomas' father was Pavel Kirchner and his mother was Veronika Švandová.  His paternal grandparents were Jan Kirchner and Judita (Kirchnerová); his maternal grandparents were Václav Švanda and <Unknown>. He had three brothers and five sisters, named Jan, Martinus, Jan, Rosálie, Anna, Elisabeta, Kateřina and Veronica.  He was the youngest of the nine children.
