Matěj was born in 1725 at Křižánky (Moravské).1   Matěj's father was Jan Kirchner and his mother was Judita (Kirchnerová).  His paternal grandparents were Jakub Kirchner and Mariana Czochová. He had three brothers and three sisters, named Jiří, Jan, Pavel, Anna, Marina and Alžběta.  He was the fifth oldest of the seven children.  He died at Křižánky (Moravské).
