Josef was born on November 24th, 1784 in Křižánky č.70.1   His godfather was Johanus Polanský. Josef's father was Tomáš Kirchner and his mother was Barbora Majorová.  His paternal grandparents were Tomáš Kirchner and Kateřina; his maternal grandparents were Matouš Major and Mariana. He had five brothers and five sisters, named Jan, Jan, Karel, Franz, Tomáš, Barbora, Josefa, Anna, Marie and Josefa.  He was the third oldest of the eleven children.
