Jan's father was Tomáš Kirchner and his mother was Barbora Majorová. His paternal grandparents were Tomáš Kirchner and Kateřina; his maternal grandparents were Matouš Major and Mariana. He had five brothers and five sisters, named Jan, Josef, Karel, Franz, Tomáš, Barbora, Josefa, Anna, Marie and Josefa. He was the oldest of the eleven children. He died before 1783.
