Abraham was born in 1766 in Gameren and his baptism took place there on March 15th, 1766.1  Abraham's father was Hendrik Peterszn van de Werken and his mother was Lijske Salomons.  His paternal grandparents were Peter Peterszn van de Werken and Jenneke Hendriksdr van Engelen; his maternal grandfather was Salomon Jacobszn Salomons and his maternal grandmother is Peterke van Depen. He had eight brothers and five sisters, named Peter, Salomon, Peter, Salomon, Peter, Peter Hendrikszn, Salomon, Jacob, Peterke, Jenneke, Peterke, Sara and Peterke.  He was the thirteenth oldest of the fourteen children.  He died at the age of 71 on July 16th, 1837 in Gameren.2
