Arien was born in 1777 in Andel and his baptism took place there on June 29th, 1777.1   His godmother was Hendrina de Rooij. Arien's father was Johannes van Waardhuijzen and his mother was Pieternella Crielaart.  His paternal grandparents were Arien Aertszn van Waardhuijzen and Hendrina de Rooij. He had three brothers and a sister, named Jan, Jan, Jacobus and Hendrina.  He was the fourth oldest of the five children.  He died at the age of 60 on November 28th, 1837 in Andel.2
