Jan was born in 1712 in Sprang-Capelle and his baptism took place on December 26th, 1712 in Capelle (Noord Brabant).1  Jan's father was Gerrit Janszn Timmers and his mother is Dingena Aartsdr Box.  His paternal grandfather was Jan Peterszn Timmers and his paternal grandmother is Janneke Jansdr de Loper; his maternal grandfather was Aart Geritse Boks and his maternal grandmother is Catelyn Symensdr van den Hout. He had a brother and four sisters, named Aart, Geertruid, Geertruid, Anna and Jenneke Johanna.  He was the fourth oldest of the six children.  Jan is no longer alive.
