Geertje was born in October 1740 in Ermelo and her baptism took place there on October 23rd, 1740.1  Geertje's father was Christoffel Janszn and her mother is Henrikje Breunissen.  Her paternal grandfather was Jan Stoffelszn and her paternal grandmother is Johanna Willemsdr; her maternal grandparents were Breunis Aeltszn and Trijntje Lubbertsdr. She had four brothers and three sisters, named Jan Stoffelszn, Breunis Stoffelszn, Stoffel Stoffelszn, Aart Stoffelszn, Johanna Stoffels, Geurtje Stoffels and Trijntjen Stoffels.  She was the third oldest of the eight children.  She died at the age of 24 on November 22nd, 1764 in Putten.  The funeral took place on November 26th, 1764 in Putten.2 2
