Peeter was born in June 1654 in Capelle (Noord Brabant) and his baptism took place there on June 14th, 1654.1   His godmothers were Ariaentien Aryensdr, Aechtien Thonisdr. Peeter's father was Cornelis Janszn Rombouts and his mother was Maijken Thomasdr Rommen.  His paternal grandfather was Jan Peterszn Rombouts and his paternal grandmother is Ariaentgen Cornelisdr N.N.; his maternal grandparents were Thomas Peeterszn Rommen and Grietgen Peetersdr N.N.. He had two sisters named Janneken and Adriaentje Cornelisdr.  He was the second oldest of the three children.
