Jan was born in 1735 in Almkerk and his baptism took place there on November 13th, 1735.1  Jan's father was Arien Gerritszn Noteboom and his mother was Leske Jacobsdr Lievaart.  His paternal grandparents were Gerrit Ariens Noteboom and Wouterke Gielen Sagt; his maternal grandparents are Jacob Marcuszn Lievaart and Teuntje Arienszn de Loij. He had three brothers named Gerrid, Jacob and Wouter.  He was the second oldest of the four children. He had two half-brothers and five half-sisters, named Arij, Christiaan, Theuntje, Lijsbet, Bastiaantje, Wouterke and Johanna.  He died at the age of 61 in 1796.  He was buried on April 11th, 1796 in Hillegersberg.1 1
