Aart Martenszn was born in February 1705 in Ermelo and his baptism took place there on March 1st, 1705.1  Aart Martenszn's father was Aert Marten Beerensen N.N. and his mother was Aaltje Rijkerts Lambertsdr de Mots.  His paternal grandparents were Marten Beerensen N.N. and N.N. N.N.; his maternal grandparents were Rijckert Lambertszn de Mots and Grietje Jansdr N.N.. He had four brothers and five sisters, named Marten Aarts Martenszn, Marten Aarts Martenszn, Harmen Aarts Martenszn, Dirk Aarts Martenszn, Woutertjen Aarts Martenszn, Woutertje Aartsdr Martenszn, Grietje Aartsdr Martenszn, Grietje Aartsdr Martenszn and Cornelisje Aartsdr Martenszn.  He was the oldest of the ten children.
