Jannes was born on October 11th, 1713 in Hoek (Zeeland) and his baptism took place there on October 15th, 1713.1   His godfathers were Cornelis van Kerkvoort, Cornelis van Luijck and his godmother was Maria de Beer. Jannes' father was Adriaen van Luijck and his mother was Adriana de Witte.  His paternal grandfather was Johannis Daamse van Luijck and his paternal grandmother is Levina van Kerkvoort. He had three brothers and seven sisters, named Jacobus, Willem, Jacobus, Levina, Lena, Krijna, Helena, Maria, Helena and Jacoba.  He was the fourth oldest of the eleven children.  He died before 1747.2
