Tileman was born in 1755 in Dussen and his baptism took place there on March 9th, 1755 conducted by Reverend Daniel Halmmans.1   His godmother was Kuijntje van Meerweijk. Tileman's father was Rombout Willemszn Kindt and his mother was Grietje van der Meijden.  His paternal grandfather was Willem Aertse Bastiaenszn Kindt and his paternal grandmother is Huijbertje Rommen van Anker; his maternal grandfather was Tieleman Janszn van der Meijden and his maternal grandmother is Neeltje Maertensdr van Rossum. He had five brothers and two sisters, and also a sibling of unknown gender, named Tileman, Willem, Johannis, Aart, Maarten, Huijbertje, Neeltje and N.N..
