Cornelis was born in January 1675 in Aalburg and his baptism took place there on January 20th, 1675.1  Cornelis' father was Joost Jasperszn de Jongh and his mother was Catharina Gijsbertsdr van Wijk.  His paternal grandparents were Jasper de Jongh and Maricken N.N.; his maternal grandparents were Gijsbert Barentszn van Wijck and Anneken Dirksdr Wijntrack. He had four brothers and a sister, named Gijsbert, Cornelis, Jasper, Antonie Joostzn and Mareijken.  He was the fifth oldest of the six children.  He died on January 20th, 1675 in Aalburg.1
