Hendrik Adrianus was born on December 8th, 1816 in Gameren.1  Hendrik Adrianus' father was Jan Hendrik de Geus and his mother was Diena van de Werken.  His paternal grandparents were Hendrik de Geus and Aartje Valkenburg; his maternal grandfather was Peter van de Werken and his maternal grandmother is Fijke van Leeuwen. He had three brothers and a sister, named Peter Cornelis, Fredrik Willem, Gijsbert Arnoldus and Arnolda Josina.  He was the oldest of the five children.  He died at the age of 72 on August 22nd, 1889 in Bruchem.1
