Geerit was born in 1707 and his baptism took place on January 30th, 1707 in Loon op Zand.1  Geerit's father was Willem Teuniszn van Diemen and his mother was Geertruy Hendricksdr de Haen.  His paternal grandparents were Teunis van Diemen and N.N. N.N.; his maternal grandparents were Hendrik Corsten de Haen and Mayken Petersdr Schalcken. He had two brothers and a sister, named Antonij Willemszn, Hendrick and Mari.  He was the youngest of the four children.  He died at the age of 75 on February 14th, 1782 in Made en Drimmelen.2
