Maria de Bruin

Maria was born in 1751 and her baptism took place on December 19th, 1751 in Amsterdam (Zuiderkerk).¹ Her godfather was Jacob van Otterspoor and her godmother was Maria Elisabeth Smit.

Maria's father was Jan de Bruin and her mother was Clasina Catharina Otterspoor. Her maternal grandparents were Claas Jacobszn Otterspoor and Elisabeth Smit. She had two brothers and four sisters, named Jan, Cornelis, Elisabeth, Hendrikie, Marretje and Johanna. She was the second oldest of the seven children.
