Jan de Bruin

Jan was born in 1754 and his baptism took place on March 24th, 1754 in Amsterdam (Oude Kerk).¹ His godfather was Hendrik van Hell and his godmother was Christina de Bruin.

Jan's father was Jan de Bruin and his mother was Clasina Catharina Otterspoor. His maternal grandparents were Claas Jacobszn Otterspoor and Elisabeth Smit. He had a brother and five sisters, named Cornelis, Elisabeth, Maria, Hendrikie, Marretje and Johanna. He was the third oldest of the seven children.
