Ellen was born in 1868 in Saxlingham, Norfolk.1 Ellen's father was William Ellis Lincoln and her mother was Susannah Buck. Her paternal grandparents were William Lincoln and Hephzibah Elizabeth Everrett. She had five brothers and two sisters, named William, Frederick, Arthur, Ellis, Albert, Emma and Laura. She was the oldest of the eight children.-
