William Harper

William was born in 1792 in Cakemore, Worcestershire and his christening took place on March 18th, 1792 at St Johns, Halesowen, Worcestershire.¹   William's father was Joseph Harper and his mother was Hannah Clift.  His paternal grandparents were Joseph Harper and Sarah Forest; his maternal grandparents were James Clift and Ann Smith. He had two brothers and a sister, named James, Edward and Ann.  He was the oldest of the four children.
