Mary Ann Hargraves 
Mary was born on August 9th, 1838 in Bramhope, Yorkshire and her baptism took place on October 7th, 1838.1 Mary's father was William Hargraves and her mother was Susannah Coates. Her paternal grandparents were John Hargraves and Mary; her maternal grandparents were John Coates and Ann Snell. She had seven brothers and seven sisters, named James, William, John, Joseph, George, Thomas, Richard, Hannah, Sarah, Martha, Elizabeth, Jane, Emma and Eliza. She was the oldest of the fifteen children. She died at the age of 70 on September 29th, 1908 in Scottdale, Pennsylvania, USA.2 - General Notes

Joseph Oakes had left Liverpool, England several months earlier and arrived into the Port of New York, New York on the Steamship Egypt, Aug 23, 1884.
