Shushilabai's father was Amarchand Dahya and her mother is Ananta Vassram.  Her paternal grandparents were Dahya Lakha and Velibai; her maternal grandparents were Vassram Kanji and Jekibai [Jekunvarben]. She had a brother and three sisters, named Anantkumar, Champabai, Labhkunvar and Jayman. She had two half-brothers and a half-sister, named Mugatlal, Khupchand and Revabai.  She died in January 2018.
