Champaclal's father was Kessaugi Gangaram Parmar and his mother is Motibai Hemchand Waghela. His paternal grandfather was Gangaram Ghela Parmar and his paternal grandmother is Nandubai Savchand Waghela; his maternal grandparents are Hemchand Narsi Waghela and Nadibai Mulgi. He had two brothers and a sister, named Ramniclal, Vipinchandra and Raman. He is the second oldest of the four children.
