Michael Stanley Heiser

Michael was born on August 26th, 1919 in Hackney.¹ Michael's father was Sidney Solomon Heiser and his mother was Lena Raphael. His paternal grandparents were Michael Heiser and Charlotte Mendes; his maternal grandparents were Michael Raphael and <Unknown>. He had two sisters named Lottie and Sylvia. He was the second oldest of the three children.

  Harry Michael was known by everyone as Michael. He and his first cousin Stanley took over the running of Brother Bung form their respective fathers until its voluntary liquidation in the late sixties. I understand this was due in part to a compulsory purchase order on the factory in Amhurst Road, Hackney, a falling order book, and difficulty of finding new premises in London or a new workforce out of town. It may have been more complicated than that.
