Mr Timothy Coleman

Timothy was born on May 13th, 1742 in Shawagunk.¹ Timothy's father was Mr William Coleman and his mother was Mrs Mary Brown. His paternal grandparents were Major John Coleman and <Unknown>; his maternal grandparents were Mr William Brown and Mrs Catherine Cathron. He had four brothers named John, William, Duncan and Israel. He died at the age of 79 on August 18th, 1821 in Pompey.²

- Enlisted August 1, 1775 in Captain Elias Hasbrouck's company, of Col. James Clinton's reqiment.
  
  Description: Age twenty-two, blacksmith, five feet, seven inches, fair complexion, light brown hair, blue eyes. His father-in-law was Capt. Jacob Rutson Dewitt, of the sixth compaby in the second regiment of militia, commanded by Col. James Clinton. He was commisioned Captain September 20, 1775. The sixth company was composed of citizens of Peinpack, Mamakating Precinct, Ulster, Co., NY.

  From August 1st, 1775 his occupation was Revolultionary War Soldier full time.

    - Tim enlisted 08 JAN 1775 under Col. James Clinton. He had light brown hair and blue eyes
      and was 5' 7" tall. At age 22 he was a blacksmith. Clinton was subordinate to Tim's father in-law,
      Jacob DeWitt of 6th Co. 2nd Reg. of militia. Born in Ulster Co.
